1st...I know I haven't collected some homework this week (10 successes on human rights and the fiction/non fiction comparison paragraph...have that ready tomorrow - I'll get them!)

If you have a chance, finish the simulation! you all did an amazing job and wow!!!
Write a page reflection, here are some ideas for you to cover. What I really want is how was this for you? Could you come close to imagining what it would be like in real life? What challenges did you face, what hard decisions did you make, how did you feel, why...just write about your experience...what did you get out of it??
Did you use the 4 agreements, how? (speak your truth, stay engaged, experience discomfort, accept/expect non-closure)

2. Spend 20 min doing more BIG IDEA research for your ED TALK (and please think of another name!)

3. Do any last revisions for your poem of 2 voices.

CORI'S CLASS AUCTION OFFERING

Hi All, Marie has taken on our class' auction item this year which I super appreciate. Our ability to fundraise is pretty amazing and she is make it so easy on our class...We only have to offer a recipe! And some student artwork. She has been sending the request and hasn't gotten much response. So please - between now and Thursday, chat with your kid...what's your family's favorite dish, dessert, waffle recipe...Type it up and send it to marie as a PDF, or if you only have word...send it that way!

Not only does this event provide a large portion of our PTSA operating budget for next year's school programming, but, more importantly, during these two weeks we raise this money together as a community of learners by promoting reading, the foundation of every child's educational experience here at school. Sunnyside students are excited about reading all year long AND there is an extra-special excitement in the air right now. Thank you for your support of this wonderful fundraiser/learning opportunity.

This Thursday, 2/13, we will be having a Dress-Like-Your-Favorite-Character day as part of this event. Please encourage your child(ren) to dress up as a character from a favorite book or story, costumes welcomed, no full-face masks please :).

...Follow the assignment sheet! - I will collect it too!
...Focus on what keeps you separate and what pulls you together (differences/connections)
...Use at least 2 Figurative Writing techniques (simile, metaphor, caesura...using all 5 senses, and specific details)
FINAL DUE THURSDAY - either typed or neatly hand written on nice paper. If you type it, you can use a table to organize your columns!
