Hi All - We want to celebrate Alexis' last day with us here in Room 210 and SES...it's been a short trip with her but we have all benefited and enjoyed getting to know her! She is a kind, inspiring, fun, smiling 7th grader who is off to another school in Beaverton...

I'd like to take our class off campus for lunch on Tuesday between 11:30-12:30....Students can bring along their sack lunch, buy lunch out or just a drink...the idea is to go off campus together, enjoy each other's company and hang out! So please send some lunch money with your child if you would like them to purchase food, otherwise, bring a sack lunch! Gracias...

1. All my people brainstorm - due Monday

-at least twenty groups of people you belong to: fun, silly, meaningful, hard/challenging, sad, happy....

ex: soccer playing, book worm, ADHD having, Good grade having, lover of baking cakes, Mexican-American, Jewish, big footed people, short people...you get the idea....who do you belong to???

2. Reading booklet Story #1 and #2 (1st 4 pages of your booklet!) - due Tuesday

3. Geologic timeline -  due Monday

Homework:

1. Geologic Timeline - Due Mon 10/27
    - Green assignment sheet...choose 1 way to represent our earth's life - starting 4.6 billion years ago.
    - It must be to scale....look at your assignment sheet for one example. Remember, if you use the example, then your project will be 4,500mm long!
    - Check in on your project on Thurs - be ready to tell Cori what you are doing and what your SCALE is.

2. Short Stories #1 & 2 - Due Tues 10/28
    - Each week you will read 2 short stories and do the journal pages that go with them. As you finish one story, you may select your second of the week
    - Each  Friday we will have discussion groups of the first story you read that week.

3. ZOO Tunnel on Thursday to study more timelines..this time of Portland's Forest Hill !

** Thanksgiving Passports
- We are off to a great start!!! Students are selling the Whole Foods Thanksgiving Passports to families and friends and neighbors. It is a great way to have a yummy treat and support SES...we get 100% of the proceeds. So sell to folks in your neighborhood and spread the love :)
...I heard something about chocolate as being a prize! :)
