Good Monday,
Quick Post - Thank you for helping your child in staying on top of school work. We've been having discussions in class about choosing to be a student and do their best work and I appreciate the support from your end. My goal with the Medieval Novel is that students turn in fully complete work on time. I am asking that they fill the page with as much detail and description as they can.

We are in full swing in the Medieval Unit where most of the work has been done in the classroom. Students are participating strongly and with interest. This week we will begin to focus on Expert Projects where students will pick one topic from this time period to do a research paper and project. I will score this paper as their state sample. The persuasive was an excellent warm up and I think the research papers will be very strong.

We are OAKS Testing this week Mon & Tues.

Thursday I plan on going to the Oregon Historical Society to learn about African American History in Portland and to take an Architectural Walking tour of some interesting churches downtown. If you are a designer, architect, builder, know about stained glass or anything about Medieval times, please join us! I"ll send out the signup genius. Sorry for the late notice, it's been a scramble.

Also, if you are interested in signing up to come help clean up/organize etc. our room either during the school day when kids are at specials or after school one day - I would be truly grateful.
