1) Keep bringing in clean bread bags for our "creative" reuse of soft plastic Class challenge - start recycling your soft plastic at home if you care about the environment and all the Nutella in it :D

2) Stream scene pages 178-190-DUE TOMORROW

3) Hatchery article-Organizer and 5 questions to ask on tour on back of hatchery organizer sheet-DUE TOMORROW

4) Any Math and Spanish homework due Friday

Midterms - Since we have a new program that isn't cooperating with our midterms, I will print a progress report that students will share and get signed by parents to be returned to me. This will hopefully come home Today or Tomorrow.

Hi all, Gabija is out today so you are stuck with my boring post about homework!

**NOTE** We are still going to the Fish Hatcheries and Eagle Creek on Thursday - prepare for an all day trip! We will most likely return to school at 3pm...


1. The River Story Project - All students now have a US river to study and have received the first part of the assignment (it's on a PINK sheet in a BLUE Folder) - this should come to school daily! The Map is due on Wed 16th. As you research, compile a timeline and interesting facts!

2. Service Journal pg 63 - Due Wed....bring in CLEAN bread bags for our creative reuse of soft plastic...Class challenge - start recycling your soft plastic at home :)

3. Choice Novel #3 - Due Wed - please do it on the paper provided since I have your reading journals

4. Class picture - Tuesday - I sent home the form today, if you want a class picture bring in the form in the next few days please.

Eagle Fern Essential Questions

Hi All, 

I wanted to get you the Essential Questions for Eagle Fern in case you were absent Thursday or "forgot" them!

More news soon!

 Students received their essential questions for the Eagle Fern trip yesterday and were given time in class to get started.  These are due Monday.  The questions are:   

1.  From the perspective of a Coho salmon, how does your life relate to every station you visited.  Include at least 3 examples from each.

2. If you were that Coho salmon, what would you be thankful for at Eagle Fern and why? (think water quality etc....)

3. Why is it important to slow down and look closely?  What more did you find?

Students can use diagrams and drawings to help them communicate their deep, critical thinking skills.  Answers should include specific examples and details.

This coming week we will be putting up our river frieze (mural) in class, making sure it has all the features of a river that we have been studying.
